How horses think.
How to care for these heavenly creatures.
We teach everyone how to tack, untack and care for the horse. That includes, grooming, tacking, warming up, riding, and cooling down your horse. We want you learn how to take care of a horse in the event you would ever want to buy one or even lease.
We offer horseback riding lessons during the week in the afternoon for most everyone's convenience. Lessons are offered:
Tuesday / Wednesday from 11am - 7pm
Thursday / Friday from 11am - 6pm
Saturday mornings from 8am - 1:00pm.
Please sign up for your Assessment lesson, so that we can get to know you and see if we are a good fit for your Journey in the Western riding world.
Western Horseback riding lessons are usually taken once a week, but we always recommend two weekly lessons, because as in any other sport you can only learn by doing.
Our goal is to create confident and knowledgeable riders while maintaining a safe and positive environment for horse and rider.
During your personal; assessment meet & greet with us, we will go over your riding goals, tell you about our program and our facility. We will then groom together one of our lessons horses and go to the arena to see how your balance on horseback is and give you a first experience.
On the end we will go over what we have learned about you and offer you what program would work best for you here at Pony Gang Western riding Columbia.

The 20% rule is a widely accepted guideline in the equestrian world that helps ensure the well-being of horses. This rule states that a horse should carry no more than 20% of its own body weight, including tack. By following this rule, we can prevent undue stress and potential injury to our horses.
At our riding school, we take this rule seriously. Our lesson horses typically weigh max of 1100 lbs, which means our weight limit for Western riding, it's 175 lbs after accounting for the weight of the tack.
We apologize to anyone above these weight limits, but our priority is the health and safety of our horses. Currently, we do not have a lesson horse that can accommodate higher weights. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us care for our equine partners.
